About Us

Sugar Skull Spirits are a small craft distillery based in Penketh, Warrington, providing unique flavours of gin, vodka and other spirits using only natural ingredients with no artifical colourings.

THE DREAM

Sugar Skull Spirts began as a pipe dream, a dream that was a million miles away, a dream that seemed too far to reach.

Our love of spirits and striving for the perfect blend, the perfect formula, the balance of flavours lead us on a journey that was long, complicated and at times stressful. However, the belief that we had in creating our own unique brand kept us high in spirits.

Our family life is as hectic as anyone elses and at times the hardest part of this journey was finding that balance of family life and the start of our adventure. Now as our brand launches and develops our family are both critical and influential in helping us all acheive our goals.

THE TEAM

We are a small family run business with Becky and Brian heading up the team ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Becky's role within the business is diverse and encompasses everything from head taste tester, critical analyser, head of sales, and much much more.

Brian on the other hand can be found mainly located within the distillery itself, ensuring that all batches are equal, all ingredients are natural and is constantly on the look out for new flavour profiles and exciting combinations to trial. And... before you ask, not everything goes to plan.

Outside of Becky and Brian, the children are supportive and keen to get involved and help the dream grow. The eldest (just in his teens) is keen to develop his skills in the world of marketing and puts together some little videos, photos and clips to help promote our products. The two youngest love to get involved with waxing and sealing our products (and even think its fun).

Watching this small business grow and seeing the enthusiasm of the children to be involved helps us keep motivated during the difficult and frustrating times.

OUR BRAND

Our brand developed from the passing of an influential figure in the life of our family, their belief (and also their love of gin) provided the foundation for our dream to grow, we are saddened by the fact that they are no longer with with us, but with the Sugar Skull as our brand we know they are behind us supporting us in everyway they can.
